annalise + jeremy | intimate backyard wedding

We ABSOLUTELY loved working with AnnaLise and Jeremy. We have been helping plan their big day since last summer. When we were just TWO months away from their special day things started to get a little cray cray with COVID. AnnaLise and Jeremy planned on having a BIG wedding + reception at TCI, but we rolled with the punches and formed a plan B! AnnaLise and Jeremy’s wedding day may have looked different, but I can tell you one thing is this day was SO special and it was truly about the two of them. They could do whatever they want, no schedule, no worries, just them two. It was absolutely beautiful.

From the bride…

“When Jeremy and I got engaged on June 3rd, 2019 we never could have known we would have to move our wedding date around so much. We could not have predicted the events that would happen and totally change our plans.

Jeremy and I had spent the last 11 months planning, organizing, and perfecting our wedding that was scheduled for May 23, 2020. As February came around we finally felt we had everything in place. We were able to get every vendor we truly wanted and at last, we felt as though we could relax knowing everything was taken care of.

Everything came to a halt when our wedding planner messaged us on March 17, strongly urging us to come up with a Plan B for our wedding. A global pandemic had erupted and we had no idea the ramifications it would have not only on our wedding day but life in general.

Jeremy and I decided that if we would be putting our friends and family in danger of getting sick, we would have to postpone. At first, we only pushed our date back six months, assuming this pandemic would have calmed down by then. But as we learned more and more about Covid-19 we knew we would have to push it back until 2021.

May 23, 2020, held a special place in our hearts. It is my grandmother’s birthday and a day we had marked on the calendar for months! So, we decided even if we could only have 10 people there, we were still going to get married.

On May 23, we had a small intimate wedding in Jeremy’s parents backyard. It was truly just about Jeremy and I. We had our brothers officiate the wedding and we had a family friend bring us a cake to cut. Our amazing wedding planner helped set up, play the music, and made sure our zoom wedding conference went out without a hitch. It was as perfect of a day that we could have. We missed sharing this special day with all of our friends and family but being able to call Jeremy my husband is what really mattered.

This virus taught us to slow down and realize that just because we weren’t able to have the wedding we had originally planned, we could still have a special day just for us two. So many people have been affected by Covid-19 not only with their weddings but events, graduations, and their jobs. We feel so fortunate that we were still able to get married and stay strong together through this weird time in our lives.

We have a new date set but are prepared to reschedule if necessary. Covid-19 has taken a lot from everyone but we weren’t going to let it take away our love and commitment to one another.”
